Senior Tax Accountant (Family Office)

A small family office in Minneapolis is looking for a strong, full-time, Senior Tax Accountant candidate. This role provides exposure to many different areas within tax and trust administration. The office is an administration center for multiple trusts, family limited partnerships, corporations, and passive limited partnerships.
Essential Responsibilities
- Preparation and/or review of federal and state tax returns, including individuals, corporations, partnerships, fiduciary Returns for estates and trusts, and information returns
- Preparation of federal and state quarterly estimates and extensions
- Preparation and analysis of financial statements, quarterly and annual reports, tax information
- Trust administration, partnership administration, prepare budgets and cash flow projections
- Monitor and communicate tax law and regulatory changes
- Develop and foster strong working relationships with internal clients, their attorneys, and money managers
- Respond to inquiries from internal clients concerning trust administration, and tax issues, including sales and use tax, transfer taxes, expense reporting, employee benefits, payroll tax, and information reporting
- Research and respond to inquiries from state and local taxing authorities
- Assist with audit inquiry responses, review document requests, gather documents, research applicable law
- Resolve minor issues directly with the IRS and other tax authorities
Qualifications/ Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from an accredited college or university
- CPA license required
- Minimum of seven years of experience in the tax field, preferably with public accounting experience
- Experience with pass-through entity taxation, S Corp and partnerships, as well as trusts
- Excellent research and technical writing abilities, organizational skills, and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in tax and accounting software systems
