Senior Accountant

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Complete individual analytical projects in a satisfactory manner, given abstract project guidelines
• Analyze and collect financial reports and records, make recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures
• Prepare complex financial reports
• Prepare and review income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements, and various other accounting statements and reports·
• Review and verify the accuracy of journal entries & accounting classifications
• Assist in evaluating, recommending, and maintaining appropriate internal controls
• Assist in the maintenance of internal control documentation
• Interact with internal and external stakeholders in responding to inquiries or report requests
• Conduct special studies and develop or recommend accounting methods and procedures
• Instruct or assign work to staff and external vendor partners
• Reconcile and review assigned client accounts
• Identify accounting problems, research possible solutions, and form conclusions to present to management
• Solicit support for ideas and provide sound rationale for recommendations
• Complete assignments independently and handle complex accounting activities
• Analyze, interpret, and report financial data

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree is required; a degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• 5-7 years of general accounting experience
