The primary role of the Senior Accountant will be to process the month-close process with timely and accurately information, complete all bank and account monthly reconciliations, create daily deposit entries, own the stored value card (SVC) process, and assist with other accounting tasks as time permits. This role requires being a critical thinker, an efficient worker, and having GAAP and/or non-profit accounting knowledge to understand the implications of transactions. This role will be fully integrated into the organization and will interact with all business areas.  

The Senior Accountant position requires a solid understanding of accounting practices with the ability to tackle monthly accounting needs and analytical analysis using proficient Excel skills.  The Senior Accountant will serve as a team member on the Accounting team and participate in various Accounting initiatives.

Essential Functions
Serve as the first point of contact for completing month-end of various accounting needs.  The primary tasks include:
•    Preparing reports and reconciling, estimating, and compiling journal entries into general ledger.
•    Account reconciliations of all asset and expense accounts within the general ledger.
•    Review of daily cash activity and various accounts receivables to ensure timely cash flow and planning.  This includes daily entries and monthly reconciliations with bank.
•    Complete the monthly reporting financial package after the CFO completes the financial review.
•    Manage and analyze weekly check run with AP accountant to confirm accuracy and reasonableness of expenses.
•    Provide support to our client service teams with their needs as requested.
•    Compile a monthly credit card statement for each leader, assist to complete monthly coding and create journal entry.
•    Deals with issues of each account and is continuously improving the process to be more efficient and enhance controls throughout.
•    Assist the Controller on ad-hoc requests.

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
•    At least four years of practical experience in General Ledger Payroll accounting, actual accounting and operating with auditors inside or outside the organization.
•    At least four years operational experience utilizing accounting software packages such as Oracle financial systems.
•    A CPA license helpful.
•    Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills 
•    Display of proficiency in GAAP, general payroll practices, as well as federal tax regulations and policies.
•    Ability to organize workload and time effectively, including prioritizing details, organizing, focusing, and planning.
