Senior Accountant – Construction

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant – Construction to support the corporate accounting team and serve as a key partner in managing accounting for construction and maintenance operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong month-end close experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Project Accounting & Month-End Close

• Manage the WIP process and related month-end journal entries for construction and maintenance projects.
• Ensure accurate month-end cutoff, customer billing, vendor invoice posting, project gain/fade reporting, and monthly pipeline reporting.
• Drive month-end close journal entry preparation and posting in the ERP system.

Reconciliations & Financial Support

• Prepare bank reconciliations and reconcile credit card statements.
• Drive the balance sheet account reconciliation process.
• Assist with financial statement support and insurance audit requests.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Build strong working relationships with construction and maintenance operations teams.
• Support accounting needs across the organization to help ensure timely and accurate financial results.
• Provide ad hoc analysis and project support as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong background in corporate accounting, preferably with construction-related accounting experience.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Working knowledge of WIP accounting, billing, vendor invoice processing, and project reporting.
• Experience preparing bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations.
• Ability to support audits and respond to financial information requests.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Prior experience in a construction, maintenance, or project-based accounting environment.
• ERP system experience.
